We found so many interesting things this week, who can choose just one? Here are some of our favorites:Left to right: lens fragment from green glass sunglasses; lipstick tube; iron alloy scraper or edging spade. These objects were found in the rear yard and probably date from the middle decades of the 20th century.
Below is a selection of ceramics recovered from an old topsoil level in unit AH2, in the front yard. These ceramics were used for cooking, eating, construction, and leisure. They were made in the late 17th/early 18th century (tin glazed earthenware), 1720s-1760s (white salt glazed stoneware), 1760s-1780s (creamware), 1780s-1840s (pearlware), and 1830s-present (whiteware).
